Want to cruise somewhere different?

Celebrating something special this year or just fancy something a little different then let me try and tempt you into looking at something you may not have considered before. These are places that I think are a must.

The Galapagos Islands – Famous for its rich biodiversity and place of Charles Darwin’s research on the theory of evolution, the Galapagos Islands are situated approximately 1,000 km from the Ecuadorian mainland.  There are 13 main islands of which 5 are inhabited, and is home to unique diversity of plant, animal and marine life.  Fred Olsen Cruise Line, Princess and Celebrity offer some unique itineraries.
Partial or full transit of the Panama Canal – The full transit is between Florida and Mexico where you will find Princess cruises offer some lovely itineraries, or take a partial transit sailing round trip from Fort Lauderdale, giving you time to explore Costa Rica, Cartagena, Columbia and Grand Cayman again Princess and also RCCL offer regular sailings.

A River cruise – The Danube River in Germany, Viking River Cruises makes this a unique experience. On a riverboat you will find a great deal of sightseeing opportunities as the cruise will sail to the smaller ports where you arrive early morning and depart in the evening.  All cabins are outside giving you some wonderful scenery.

South America – Rio de Janerio to Buenos Aires –  Why not take a sector of a World Cruise on either the Balmoral or Adonia, they have two lovely itineraries for 2012.

There are many more places I can touch on but I think these 4 are on the top of my list to see.
