Japan seems to be on many peoples wish list, so this week at cruise.co.uk we are having a Japan week.
With a successful launch of our 2017 Japan cruises we are now pleased to offer you a huge selection of 2018 itineraries, in fact we have over 50 dates for you to choose from.
Some itineraries will of course feature our old favourites, like the bullet trains, snow monkeys but also adding in some extras. Here are our Top 5 in 2018.
These top 5 will take you through the different seasons in Japan to make the most out of your time. The seasons in Japan run very similar to our seasons, but with the summer being a lot hotter and the winters a lot colder than us.
All these tailormade itineraries will coincide with a Princess cruise.
Our first departure is the 9th April 2018 where you take full advantage of the Cherry Blossom season. A very pretty time in Japan, lots of blossom, where you will have the chance to sample the edible leaves.
Next is the Bamboo forest, on a departure date of the 17th April 2018. The forest has paths which are over 500 meters long which are set between Tenryuji temple and Nonomiya Shrine. A very dramatic site. As this departure is in April you will also take advantage of the Cherry Blossom.
A port of call that many ships will call at is Hiroshima. The Hiroshima Peace Memorial was the only structure left standing in the area where the first atomic bomb exploded on 6th August 1945. Through the efforts of many people, including those if the city of Hiroshima, it has been preserved in the same state as immediately after the bombing. One of the dates we are featuring Hiroshima departs 19th May 2018.
Brand new for us is the Samurai’s. The Samurai were the warriors of premodern Japan, later making up the ruling military class that eventually became the highest ranking social caste of the Edo Period (1603-1867). Samurai employed a range of weapons such as bows and arrows, spears and guns, but their main weapon and symbol was the sword. Our tours will take you to see how these swords are made. One of the departure dates for a Samurai tour departs 11th August 2018. This departure date also takes into a firework festival.
New Geisha’s and Ryokans. Geisha girls are professional entertainers who attend guests during meals, banquets and other occasions. They are trained in various traditional Japanese arts, such as dance and music. You will experience drinking tea with a Geisha. This will really give you an insight to their culture. One of the departure dates for this experience is the 28th April 2018.
As I said at the beginning we have lots of other dates available throughout next year. Please call me on 0800 408 6092 for further information.
