Olly Smiths Glass House on the Azura

If you are a fan of the great grape like myself then you will Love the Glass House on the Azura.  It was certainly a firm favourite for me. A very sophisticated and relaxed wine bar and restaurant.

The Glass House is one of Azura’s ‘Select Dining Venues’ and features an Enigmatic Preservation System to ensure that the wine is delivered to you in pristine order.  This also enables you to order the wine by the glass and not the bottle.  On the menu, you’ll find a comprehensive selection of worldwide wines, with tasting notes complied by Olly Smith. The menu even features exclusive vintages, available by the glass rather than the bottle. And to complement these wonderful wines? Delicious dishes of fresh grill fare that can be enjoyed noon and night.

Olly’s view on the Glass House

There are 32 wines from around the world: I think we’ve covered pretty much every wine-producing nation. Everyone will be able to find a wine to suit them, from riesling-style whites to rich, bold reds. My team will all be trained experts in the individual wines to make sure every passenger has the best possible time.”

Olly was keen to match some of the wines to Azura’s itineraries, which range from the classical romance of the Mediterranean and the Adriatic to the passionate shores of the Caribbean and the Canaries.

“I want people to have the opportunity to taste wines from some of the destinations Azura will be visiting, as well as charting how international wine has become.

“The house wines for Azura, red, rosé and white, I blended from Sicily, while our sparkling wine comes from just outside Venice, a lovely food-friendly prosecco. We sail right past many wine-producing countries, so you can wave to the vineyards as you cruise past!”

Olly won’t be missing the opportunity to cruise on Azura himself – and not just to check that The Glass House is running smoothly.

“Cruising is a wonderful way to take in so many different destinations, meet new people and have fantastic cultural experiences,” he enthuses. “There’s world-class dining on board and wonderful spas. What other holiday could you possibly have where you’re guaranteed to be looked after so magnificently in so many locations? I think it’s the future of travel.”
