New Ships for 2010
There are more ships being launched in 2010 than there was in 2009. From the world biggest cruise ship to the newest small ship there will be more than a dozen ships launched. Thought you might find this information useful.
The Allure of the Seas – The biggest cruise ship
Belonging to Royal Caribbean the Allure of the seas debuts in December 2010. She is the sister ship to the Oasis of the Seas. At 222,000 gross registered tons,she will carry 5,400 guests.
She will be based in the Caribbean offering 7 night eastern and western caribbean from Fort Lauderdale
Best Suites on Allure of the Seas – The Allure of the Seas will feature two-level loft suites, AquaTheater family suites, the Royal Caribbean International’s signature Presidential Suite that sleeps 14, and many other categories of accommodations.
Diamond Lounge on Allure of the Seas – Royal Caribbean’s repeat guests that have achieved Diamond status (10 completed cruises) can take advantage of the Diamond Lounge. Only available on the Oasis-class and Freedom-class vessels, the Diamond Lounge features complimentary evening cocktails among its perks.
Yachts of Seabourn – The Seabourn Sojourn is the second of three new ships for the Yachts of Seabourn. Estimated to debut in June 2010, it will be 32,000 GRT and carry 450 passengers. This luxury small cruise line offers a free cruise to guests that have cruised with Seabourn for 140 days.
Oceania Cruises – When the Marina is launched in September 2010, it will be Oceania’s fourth cruise ship. Although Oceania’s other three vessels are all around 30,000 GRT, the Marina will be the largest in its fleet at 66,000 GRT. Unique features will include their Culinary Studio at Sea.
Costa Cruises – The Costa Deliziosa will be the first cruise ship to debut in 2010. Ship’s features will include a 4-D cinema and their signature Samsara Spa with exclusive spa suites. The Deliziosa will be 92,700 GRT and carry 2,828 passengers. It will sail 7-night cruises from Dubai.
MSC Cruises – The MSC Magnifica was launched in March 2010 and will be MSC Cruises’ 11th ship. It will be 93,330 GRT and will carry 2,518 passengers. The ship will feature its MSC Yacht Club, exclusively for suite guests.
Celebrity Cruises – The Celebrity Eclipse will be Celebrity Cruises’ third ship in the Solstice-class. For summer 2010, she will cruise from Southampton, England. The ship will be 122,000 GRT and carry 2,850 passengers.
P&O cruises – The Azura was launched in April 2010 as the sister to the Ventura. This ship features many family amenities such as a circus school for kids. At 116,000 GRT, she will carry 3,110 passengers.
Norwegian Cruise Line – NCL will launchtheir Norwegian Epic in June 2010. It will be NCL’s largest and most innovative ship to date, featuring an Aqua Park, an ice bar, and the largest private villa complex at sea. The Epic will be 153,000 GRT and will carry 4,200 guests.
Holland America Line – The Nieuw Amsterdam will be the sister to the Eurodam, another Signature-class ship. It is estimated to debut in July 2010 and will carry 2,106 guests.
Cunard Line – The Queen Elizabeth is estimated to debut in October 2010. It will be 90,400 GRT and will carry 2,058 guests. Her best features include a two-tier library and expansive facilities for babies, children, and teens.
