I was lucky enough to sail with Seabourn a couple of years ago on the Seabourn Quest. I had a fantastic time sailing between Malta and Malaga, it was a 5 night voyage that allowed me to sample the luxury of Seabourn, and nothing disappointed me. So it was wonderful news to hear that Seabourn have ordered a new ship to join in line with their 3 newest ships the Quest, Odyssey and the Sojourn. There is certainly a gap in the market for Seabourn to launch a new ship, as over the next 2 years the Pride, Spirit and Legend will leave the fleet. These are the smaller and older ships in their fleet, holding around 208 passengers as compared to 450 on the new ships. Not everyone wants these big state of the art superliners with 4000 plus passengers, big waterslides and lots of entertainment to suit all different tastes, and this is where Seabourn stand out on there own. Seabourn is more about luxury, being pampered, taking in lots of different countries and ports across the world. It truly is an amazing experience.
The Pride, Spirit and Legend are not leaving the seas for good, they will be going to Windstar cruises.
Once I have some further information about the new ship I will let you know.
NCL have also released the names of their 2 new ships. The Norwegian Escape and the Norwegian Bliss. This was decided by a facebook vote!!
