Fuel Supplements… What do you think?

If there is one thing I don’t like doing and that is filling my car with Diesel.  All I think about is what I am missing out on, like the top I saw that day or those sandals calling me in the shop window.  At £1.22 a litre for diesel, to fill up I am looking between £60 and £70.

It’s no surprise that the cruise lines have started to add on fuel supplements.  The rise in fuel affects so many people.  My dad who runs a coach company is really feeling it at the moment, so has had to put his prices up.  Where does it stop?

P&O and Cunard will introduce a fuel supplement for all new bookings made from 10th May 2010.  The supplement will apply to all departures from 1st November 2010.  The supplement will be £2.50 per person per day, up to a maximum of £100 per person.

The supplement will apply to every paying passenger travelling, including 3rd and 4th person fares and paid child places.  No supplement will be applied to free child places.

Fred Olsen have also applied fuel supplement from the 5th May.  They will charge £3 per person per day, up to a maximum of £60 per person and £1.50 per person per day for third and subsequent occupants of a cabin to a maximum of £30 per person.

What this space as I am sure that other companies will follow……….
