Well at last the time has come for the Wests annual holiday. By the time you read this I will be well and truly into the holiday. We flew on Friday to Barcelona and stayed overnight and then joined the ship on the Saturday. My husband and I love Barcelona and we can’t wait to take the kids. Of course I will do a full blog on my return.
We are cruising on board Carnival’s new ship the Carnival Vista, which looks amazing… a ship that will suit the whole family… The children are so excited!! There should be plenty for them to do, from the water slides to the sports square featuring the sky ride which is a bike course high above the deck. There is an IMAX cinema which my son cannot wait to see and for my husband there is the RedFrog Pub & Brewery, where the beers are freshly brewed just feet from your table. Me, I’m looking forward to the Havana Bar & Pool, a little back ground music while the sun is out, sipping a few cocktails…. Bliss!!
Our itinerary is a 12 night Mediterranean cruise calling in at Marseille, Livorno, Rome, Naples, Dubrovnik, Corfu, Messina and Sardinia.. A few of these ports I have been to before with Dubrovnik being one of my favourite ports. We are hoping to catch the train into Rome and also take a trip to Florence.
We love cruising as a family as we find that the children have a little more freedom while on the ship and we get a little more free time, a perfect combination.
I am back in the office on Monday 22nd August and will write a full review of the ship and ports of call.
