Adonia is back

P&O have announced the much loved Adonia will be making a comeback!!  The ship left the fleet back in 2015 but seems was missed by too many P&O passengers and will make a come back from June 2017

She left P&O to sail as “fathom cruises” which is a line dedicated to volunteer tourism.  Fathom is the newest brand in the Carnival Corporation & plc family, which carries nearly 11 million passengers every year to ports around the world.  I must admit I didn’t really take too much notice of what Fathom cruises was all about but have just had a quick look and it seems a fantastic mini adventure.

The Adonia was previously an adult only vessel and was one of the smaller ships in the fleet with only 710 passengers on board.  When she returns to P&O she will have upgrades including a new restaurant (Olly Smith’s “The Glass House”), an outdoor cinema on the Lido deck, refreshed furnishings and lighter fabrics in cabins.

The ship was perfect for P&O clients who like the smaller ships, and it seems the news has spread very quickly with clients wanting to book onto her as soon as possible.

She will offer a range of itineraries in Europe and the Caribbean, and will  go on sale 7th December.  The first sailing will be 16th June 2017 which is a 7 night cruise to Bordeaux (overnight), St Peter Port and Honfleur.  Following on from this will be a 14 night Iceland cruise, being the perfect ship for this itinerary.  She will also offer a couple of British Isles cruises, and will make her way over to the Caribbean in October 2017, where she will stay until February 2018 when she will preposition back to Southampton

So what are your thoughts on this news?
