A day onboard the Seadream…

I had a fantastic opportunity back in the summer to spend the evening on board the beautiful and elegant Seadream Yacht. It was the first time ever one of the twin ships had come to London so it was a very special event. What was even better was my husband also came to enjoy this wonderful experience. We arrived in sunny London on Sunday 8th May and spent a lovely day round London Bridge, this was where the yacht had docked – she certainly created a large audience.

At 1800 we then boarded the Seadream 1, to be able to board the yacht we had to get a life boat over to the HMS Belfast and board via the HMS Belfast. As soon as we arrived we were shown into the Main Salon where we were given a glass of champagne and canapés, and a wonderful head massage ( I have to say this was the best head massage I have ever had).

As the yacht only holds 112 guests the Salon is the main meeting area, there is also on board a small library, Casino, a Piano Bar and the outside pool area where you can watch starlit Movies.

We were then shown to our stateroom. I was surprised how large the room was, with a large double bed, a well-appointed open living area and bathroom. All the cabins have an ocean view, ample wardrobe space with a personal safe. Belgian linens with your selection of pillows and wool blanket or duvet. Marble-lined bathroom with multi-jet shower massage, Bvlgari bath amenities and Seadreams 100% plush cotton robe and slippers. Hair dryer, state of the art entertainment centre including flat screen TV, DVD, CD player and data port. Personalised stationery, well-stocked refreshment bar and 24 hour room service is also available.

Dinner was then served in the Dining Salon, which was served with some gorgeous wine. I had the fish and it was cooked to perfection.

After dinner activities included:

*** Concert under the Stars****
Queen – Live at Wembley
After dinner drinks in the Piano Bar where you can listen to live music and a sing-a-long
Casino
Movie in the Main Salon with popcorn

We had a few drinks in the Piano Bar and enjoyed people watching!

Out on deck there are some ‘Balinese Dream Beds’, these are designed for two and provides unobstructed views, you can also sleep under the stars, the staff will gladly provide turndown service with bed lined, pillows and cosy duvets.

For the more active people the yacht’s water sports Marina is perfect for swimming and snorkelling. You will also find personal watercraft, glass bottom kayaks, sailboats, Zodiacs for water skiing, and a banana boat.

The next day we had breakfast ‘el fresco’, again I couldn’t fault the food or service. I had scrambled egg and smoked salmon, which if anyone knows me well is my all-time favourite breakfast!

The time came to quickly to disembark I had a fantastic time, with food, service and wine at the highest level. I now understand why they call it ‘yachting and not cruising’.
