Well it seems that royal caribbean are planning on revamping the Independence of the Seas ahead of it’s 5th summer season. The $7 million refurbishment is due to take place in April before she arrives in Southampton on 2nd May to start her summer sailings.
So what will the changes be? A new baby and toddler nursery will be introduced. Large outdoor cinema screen The Cupcake Cupboard, offering freshly-baked cupcakes, culinary parties and design classes Italian Trattoria Giovanni’s table RCCL are also planning on new itineraries to include short cruises, such as two-night breaks to Le Harve for Paris and three-night cruises to Le Harve and Zeebrugge for Bruges. She will also run eight-night cruises to Norway, fourteen-night cruises to Norway, Mediterranean and Cork cruises and twelve-night cruises around the Canary Islands. She will also feature Ibiza as a new port of call on her Mediterranean Cruise. Last year Royal Caribbean transformed five of her ships the Rhapsody of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas, Grandeur of the Seas, Seranade of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas
