So after all the hype and excitement the day finally arrived for the visit on the Queen Elizabeth. My first glance was when we arrived into Southampton; I thought she looked a fine lady.
Once onboard we were shown to our balcony cabin. I have to admit I was not overwhelmed by the cabin. The decor was warm and welcoming but I thought it was very small and compact, especially the bathroom. The cabin had all the standard facilities that you would expect. We then went round and looked at a few other grade cabins that they offer. To be honest I had the same feeling, nice decor but quite small. I went to see the Q1, which as you would expect was very spacious and had lovely facilities, I did think though the P grades were not overly spacious, and I was a little disappointed with this.
I thought the main Britannia restaurant was light and spacious, I did see a few tables for 2 scattered around which may please some of you. We were lucky enough to sample the food on the evening, which was up to Cunard‘s standard; together with the ‘White Star’ service it provided a lovely experience..
The main theatre was very grand looking and had the balconies were you can reserve these and have canapes before the show. We were also given a sneak preview of the entertainment they will have onboard which forms their Theatre Company, I thought the dancers were extremely good and very professional, I would like to sample more of this.
The casino was a good size and thought the public areas were all really nice; my favourite for day time was the garden lounge. I could just imagine myself sitting there with a book and a coffee after a busy day. My favourite area for the evening was the Golden Lion pub, Ok so it was busy with Travel agents enjoying sampling the drinks menu but I liked the size of the pub and it wouldn’t be difficult to create a good atmosphere. I remember when my husband and I went on the QE2 years ago we enjoyed many an evening in the pub.
I really liked the ship, she had a very warm and welcoming feel, the food and the service was excellent something you come to expect from Cunard, I liked the traditional feel she had. My main criticism was the size of the cabins especially the Princess Grills.
So her maiden voyage set sail today and I would like to wish her and all my clients a happy voyage, I can’t wait to hear from my clients.

Nice Photos Lisa. Glad you had chance to be there and see this lovely new ship first hand.
Hi Lisa. Did you get to see the Teen Zone? Any thoughts on that?
Nice pictures Lisa but I am afraid none of it looks half as good as the Princess ships and we have sailed 5 times with them. Even the food looks poor compared to Princess fare.
Also I would never sail with a shipping line that has different clases with the equivalent of First class and cattle class.
Would have been nice to see views of of the staterooms, particularly as that was your only criticism. Strange?
Just arrived back off the maiden voyage. Magnificant!
