Tea at the Ritz

Back in September my Mom celebrated her 60th birthday, so for a treat my sister and I booked her afternoon tea at the Ritz, together with my Dad.  You have to book at least 6 weeks in advance, we really wanted to go at Christmas but with the snow disruption we decided to go in January.  My Mom was so excited cause not only did my dad go but me and my sister also booked.  So the 4 of us had a day together in London.  We all lead such busy life’s so it was lovely to spend the day with them.

We treated them to lunch in Convent Garden then got the tube to Green Park, had a walk down to Trafalgar Square went into the National Arts museum and then made our way to the Ritz.  What an experience! We had a fantastic time.  I wasn’t really too sure what to expect, but we were all made to feel so welcome.  The staff were so attentive; it was like having afternoon tea in the Queens Room onboard a Cunard ship.  We sampled the Ritz classic tea, had cucumber, salmon and egg magonasise sandwiches cream scones to follow and then if you had room there were the beautiful patisseries to try.  I have to say after having the scones I just couldn’t find room for the cakes.  I don’t know how but my Mom and Dad found room.  It was such an English experience and makes you proud to be British.  The hotel was beautiful and I would certainly go back again. I will download some photos once I have these off my sister.
