Yes you heard correctly, Royal Caribbean have announced that a 6th Oasis mega cruise ship is due to be delivered in Autumn 2023.
A passenger capacity of 6,680 passengers and costing more than $1 billion to build by French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique will follow on from Royal’s 5th Oasis-class ship which is due for delivery in Spring 2021. This is the 23rd cruise ship that Royal Caribbean will be building at this shipyard!
It was 10 year ago when Royal Caribbean made their debut with the Oasis of the Seas and followed by Allure of the Seas.
Earlier this month Royal Caribbean confirmed the name of the 27th ship in the fleet due to launch 2020: Odyssey of the Seas. The ship will be the 2nd in Royal’s Quantum Ultra Class joining Spectrum of the Seas.
What do you think of the 6th Oasis-class ship? Do Royal Caribbean really need another mega ship?
