2016…. A special year for me!

Happy New Year to you all!

2nd working day of 2016 and its certainly been a busy one!!  I have to say I love this time of the year, with lots of people looking and booking their next cruise.  I have had a wonderful 2 weeks off.  Letting me recharge my batteries but most importantly spending quality time with the family.  Hope you all had a lovely one too?

Thought I would give you a little insight to what my Christmas and New Year was like?

This year we decided to spend Christmas day on our own with the children, so just the 4 of us.  My parents came over for breakfast and to see the children but then we were left to do whatever we wanted for the rest of the day.  We decided to have a walk up to our local pub and spent a couple of hours amongst good friends, it was a great atmosphere, kids happy makes parents even happier!!  We then had a couple of friends back for a drink with their little boy, let’s just say they never left until later on the evening after staying for Christmas dinner.  I always cook way to much food so it was easy to stretch to feed another 3 mouths. It was a fantastic day, one we will remember for a long time.

Now my little boy is really into his football and after numerous teams he has supported over the past 12 months his heart now lies with Aston Villa (which is good news for me and his Dad), so on boxing day we took him and my daughter to the Villa, obviously we wasn’t expecting them to win, but they did play a good game, but more importantly the kids loved it.

The rest of Christmas was then spent with family and friends, eating and of course drinking!!

New Year’s Eve was spent at our good friends whose children are the same age as ours.  Fab time was had by all, playing games, laughing, eating and of course what seemed like a favourite pastime of mine over Christmas drinking!!

To be honest it’s nice to get back to normality, back to school, back to work and back to a routine.

2016 is going to be a special year for me.  In March I will be celebrating 20 years of working at cruise.co.uk (Victoria Travel).  I really cannot believe how quick this time has gone, I have certainly grown up with the company, I really do mean it when I say I wouldn’t of had it any other way.  I have had some fantastic times over the years and look forward to great things with cruise.co.uk.

On a personal level I am really into my fitness, and each year I try to set myself a little challenge.  I have already done a half marathon, but really want to do another so have decided to sign up for the Birmingham Half marathon again, I am also competing in the Rat Race in May of this year. It is a 20 mile course, jam-packed with 200 obstacles designed to smash your limits!! Training has already started, I will let you know how it goes!

So let’s hope we all have a great 2016 and look forward to the year ahead!
