Wow where did April go??
We had another extremely busy month here at cruise.co.uk. What with the launch of summer 2017, some amazing last minute deals, and of course the long awaited release of our fantastic bucket list brochure… Don’t forget if you are after something that little bit special then email me your details and I will send this out to you (see my blog http://www.cruise.co.uk/cruise-blogs/westyswaves/wp-admin/post.php?post=1027&action=edit).
So May is here and for me this means a little sunshine break with my friends and also after months of hard training the Rat Race!!
So what is the Rat Race?
It is the World’s biggest assault course over 20 miles with 200 obstacles… Yes I must be mad, but I do love a challenge. I have always loved to keep fit but found that after having the children it was difficult to fit in going to the gym or going to an exercise class so I decided to take up running, I could go early in the morning or later at night and it didn’t interfere too much with the children’s routine, obviously they are older now but my passion for running has stayed with me. I then joined a bootcamp group a couple of years ago and train 3 times a week at 6.00am in the morning in a car park near some woods where I live. I absolutely love these girls that I train with – we have some great laughs and it sets me up for the day – it really is a feel good factor. Since this group we have all completed different challenges from half marathons to the Wolf run, Tough mudder and the hardest challenge so far 666 – which is 6 hours, 6 minutes and 6 seconds of pure hell (well that’s what it looked like – I didn’t do this one). So our latest challenge is the Rat Race. There are 4 of us taking part in this. We have had to train so hard from running long distances to building up strength. It’s been hard work and hope all those hours of training will be enough!
Just before I do the Rat Race I am off for a 3 night girly break, give me chance to rest before the big race.
I will let you know how my challenge went!!
