Yesterday I was privileged enough to be able to attend a Celebrity Galapagos presentation hosted by www.cruise.co.uk and Celebrity. The venue was the lovely New Forest Hotel in Lyndhurst. Guests were treated to a light lunch before the presentation.
Celebrity has 2 ships in the Galapagos. The Xpedition and soon to be launched, Flora. Celebrity Flora is the first ever ship of its kind to be designed and built specifically with the destination in mind – in this case, the stunning Galapagos Islands. Celebrity is very proud of the fact that they have been in the Galapagos for 15 years now. A maximum of 168 guests are allowed at a time – 68 on Xpedition and 100 on Flora.
The package is fully inclusive and also includes your flights, transfers, hotels and all excursions. You can even add on another 4 nights with a trip to Machu Picchu.
I would describe the whole experience as a modern luxury adventure. Small groups of 12 go out twice a day with their own personal naturalist and experience this beautiful part of the world.
The Galapagos is a truly unique destination with incredible biodiversity – a place where animals call the shots and human interference are kept strictly to the minimum. Nature-lovers will love the sheer number of rare and endemic species as well as the natural wonders waiting to be discovered. The islands also had a significant impact on Charles Darwin’s Theory of Natural Selection.
So if you’re keen on seeing animals or plants not found anywhere else on the planet then the Galapagos Islands are the place for you. These animals are amazingly not scared of people either, so you’ll be up close and personal. You’ll be able to go out into the Pacific Islands and experience this marvel of nature!
Take a minute and have a look at the video of the new ship – Celebrity Flora.
