Oasis of the seas…10 years on

Wow can you believe it is 10 years since Royal Caribbean launched Oasis of the seas, at the time the world’s largest cruise ship, it only seems a short while ago to me! Well a lot has changed since then and we now have more and more incredible ships in the industry, with amazing facilities.

So later in the year it’s time for Oasis of the seas to get a little make over, she will under go a $165 million transformation in November 2019, here is a sneak peak of some of the changes and extras that will be added –

• The boardwalk will gain the addition of the popular ‘Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade’, which has 80 big screen T’V’s, serves Pub grub and has classic arcade games.
• Portside BBQ – Royal’s first barbecue venue.
•  Sugar Beach – This will be added to the Boardwalk, which is a 220 variety candy shop, which is featured on other Royal ships too. However this one will also have a walk up ice cream window.
• Ultimate Abyss, the tallest dry slide at sea, the Perfect storm which is a trio of waterslides.
• For the younger ones, they will be adding Spashaway Bay water park, which will have a splash pad, water fountains and water cannons.
• New hot tubs added to the Adults only solarium as well as the 3 storey Lime and Coconut bar.
• Bionic Bar, Spotlight Karaoke bar and a venue called the Music Hall. which will host cover bands.

Some fantastic changes and additions here i think, the ship is already brilliant but now it will be even better. Have you sailed on Oasis before? I would love to!

Once the refurbishment has finished she will sail in the winter out of Miami, offering 7 Night Eastern Caribbean itinerary’s, before then moving to Cape Liberty in May 2020 for 7 Night Bahamas itinerary’s .
