Will you be up for cruising when you retire?

I had a great conversation with a client this week who put to me a very good point.

She believes that in 15 years time when retirement age has got up to the age of 70 onwards the cruise industry will be hit hard.

She just may be right.

At the moment so many of my clients are between their late 50s to their 60s and retired but of course with the way our pensions and retirements are changing someone in their 60s retired with be rare.!!!

As if the thought of working to my 70s was not bad enough now i’m coming to realise that a lot of my future clients will not be able to make a cruising booking until their retirement 10 years later than planned.

What do you think? Is your retirement extension hampering your plans and dreams.

I know that I will struggle to do some of these great vacations by the time i’m 70 which is such a crime.

So what can be done? How will the industry react? Will numbers fall?

I know that cruising is not just for the retired but there is a big percentage of retired that take up these cabins.

Ships are getting bigger too, Are we going to see a collapse?

All sounds very doom and gloom but like everything else there always seems to be a solution, an answer, a fix.

We’ll wait and see.
