I have never really thought it of interest but since I have returned from my recent 7 night summer holiday a lot of my customers have asked that very question, ‘where do cruise agents go? On a cruise I presume’.
Well for the 3rd year on a trot I have gone to Dawlish Warren, a very british small holiday town bang in the middle of Exeter and Torquay in the beautiful county of Devon.
I went there for a holiday for the 1st time in 2014 where the weather was so hot for the whole week, I can honestly say with the weather playing it’s part it was as good a family holiday as I have done abroad, there is so much to see.
Last year was just as good weather wise and this year the evenings were a little cooler but the days stayed dry apart from 2 showers on the last day, we were on the beach at the time so it really did not make much difference to us.
So why do I go to Devon? Well my nan lives in Dawlish just 2 miles from Dawlish Warren and combining a holiday with visiting her is perfect.
I started looking closer to home though as I have 4 children!!! have you looked at the cost of a cruise or an abroad holiday for 2 adults and 4 children in the school holidays? Crazy prices and certainly a cost I am not willing to pay, in fact I am yet to do a cruise with any of my children yet!!! If I take them on a ‘deal’ I am likely to get a £120 per child school fine, wiping out any deals that may tempt me.
So for me, I go to Devon and as yet have no regrets.
For the record I have booked next years holiday, Majorca, Self Catering, 4 times more expensive than Dawlish Warren.
