Harmony of the Seas- What’s it all about?

So last week the worlds largest ship came to the UK amidst a lot of media hype and some very excited cruisers, both passengers and travel agents.

Harm-in-port-

Her maiden voyage on the 22nd May was proceeded by a 2 night guinea pig run that was enjoyed by travel agents and the media and as you may have seen gave a good early insight into her.

So what are the stats?

She cost $1.5 billion to build and took over two years under construction.

At 1,188 feet she is taller than the Shard building in London.

She will be able to accommodate, 6,780 passengers and 2,100 crew, a total of 8,880 people!!

She has 18 decks, 23 swimming pools, 42 bars and lounges, a shopping district, ice rink, Central Park,
Boardwalk area with Carousel.

Of course there is so much more you will have to see it to believe it.

Quite a few of my colleagues were on board and the feed back and live blogs were amazing.

The younger Cruise.Co staff loved the Ultimate Abyss’ a 10 storey slide that is 150 feet above sea level. You board from a glass platform looking right down 9 decks into the Broadwalk District. You ride at around 9 miles an hour on a custom made mat drifting through tunnels with various audio effects. I’m not too sure how much fun this actually is, I am a bit of an adrenaline freak and at 9mph I think could be an anti-climax for me, however i have no doubt my kids would absolutely love it.

This is just the tip of the surface on this Mind Blowing ship, why not have a look at our live reports on our website.

What you think? Is it too big? Will it lose the feel of cruising? is this what cruising is now all about?
