I have just recently got back from a fantastic holiday with my family in San Antonio, Texas.
As expected the temperatures were great, high 70s into the 80s and clear blue skies.
I have plenty of photos so please click here to view them on my Facebook page.
We stayed with some friends so got to live the American way for 2 weeks, BBQs, Wendy’s, Whataburger, McDonalds, Jack in the Box, you get the picture. It was my first visit to the US so i wanted to make it count and 1 of my highlights had to be a night out watching a NBA game, the San Antonio Spurs v Oklahoma Thunder, what a cracking atmosphere and experience.
San Antonio as well as having the famous Alamo museum and history also has the most beautiful River walk, a must when in this part of the world.
As you will see from the photos we spent a weekend in Port Aransas, about 2 hours from San Antonio and hired out a beach house. here we went swimming in the sea, went to a small theme park, made pizzas with the kids and had a big balcony BBQ, again under the heat of the Texan sun.
The beach was almost Caribbean effect and sat on the Gulf of Mexico Ocean.
If you ever fancy Texas then there are cruises with Carnival and Royal Caribbean that start and/ or finish in Galveston, about 90 mins from Houston and 4 hours from San Antonio. Feel free to call me and I can help build you a great Cruise and Stay holiday.
So the snow? Well that was back home in East Anglia!!! Just a few days after all that heat and less than a week from the 1st day of May. Get me out of here.
