DHL or Royal Caribbean?

A friend of mine booked herself a transatlantic cruise from Southampton to Miami on the Anthem of the Seas. Between booking and sailing she had decided to move to Canada, her homeland.

Moving can be expensive at the best of times with all the removal costs so sending it all to Canada was going to cost a fortune.

So, with the cruise going the right way how much luggage can be taken. A call to Royal advised that they could take 200lbs per person, a decent amount but not enough,”How much for excess luggage?” she asked, after a brief hold they got back to her, “We don’t charge anything”!!!!

Let the excess luggage begin.

In total 27 pieces of luggage went with them including the bike, all for free. The porters emptied their hired transit van at Southampton and took everything to their room, no questions asked.

On arrival in Miami the porters where just as good and helped load everything into the van hired at that end.
