A few weeks ago I spoke about a cruise terminal opening up in London, well our friends at Azamara Cruises have just gone 1 better for those that don’t like to fly.
They have teamed up Belmond, famous for its Iconic trains such as the Orient Express, Royal Scotsman, Northern Belle and many more not just in the UK but Worldwide. Why?
In the cruise industry there are many obstacle for people wanting to cruise but can not, the main reason being flying.
So why not just sail from Southampton or any other British cruise terminal? For many they don’t want to be on a ship for 3 days before they hit the warm Mediterranean sunshine.
This is where Azamara and Belmond help to solve this problem.
Make you way to London Victoria and board 1 of Belmond’s famous and iconic trains, be pampered and dined to the highest quality and standard as you make your way to the Med ready to be met by the reps of Azamara who will then transfer you the short distance from the Med train station to ship.
So why have Azamara teamed up with Belmond? It’s a service and standard like for like with the same type of client that would travel with these great travel companies.
Azamara has 2 ships, The Quest and The Journey, both identical.
They are 30,000 tonnes, have 9 decks with jut 694 passengers and 408 officers and crew, with tips and drinks included make a journey with Azamara an Amazing experience. Of course Azamara offer so much more, concierge and butler services, an Azamazing evening excursion and so much more.
Typical destinations include Monte Carlo, Portofino, Ston in Croatia, Bordeaux, Amalfi, Bangkok and many more.
I was fortunate enough to travel on the Belmond British Pullman, a very traditional British train with the most wonderful waiters serving superb food. To help with the journey entertainment can also be found onboard, we had a murder mystery theme acted out by theatre style actors in full costume. With a pen and note book supplied it turned out to be very good entertainment.
Although the I’s and T’s still need to be dotted and crossed it should not be too long before you hear the official announcement of this great partnership, and if you miss it then keep an eye on my blog as I will be sure to share it with you.
