This weekend sees me off on Cunard’s QM2 for a 4 night mini-cruise, to Bruges again. This will be about my 5th, maybe 6th time to Bruges and would not have done it had it been with another cruise line but Cunard I have never travelled with.
Needless to say I am excited about the Cunard experience, the Planetarium and the dining, I love eating.
The Cunard fleet has 3 ships – The Queen Mary 2 which came into service in 2004, Queen Victoria came into service in 2007 and then Queen Elizabeth which came into service in 2010.
Cunard do not have ice skating rinks or rock climbing walls on their ships, what they do have is the biggest library at sea with over 8000 books (I have never read a book!!!), the only Planetarium at sea on Queen Mary 2, Afternoon tea served by waiters in white gloves, and also beautiful gala balls held during the cruise. This particular mini cruise though will not be having a gala night.
All of this gives cruising with Cunard a more luxurious and elegant ambiance on board.
Other on board activities include: Dance Classes, Spa, Croquet, Paddle Tennis, Short mat bowls, Fencing lessons, Sports matches, Golf Simulator as well as the spa, swimming pools, film screenings and Bridge. Theatre shows and also Karaoke, some of which should help banish the thought that Cunard is too stuffy to sail on.
Like other cruise lines they do have their Formal evenings but then have casual nights too.
Whilst onboard I will be posting photos and doing short blogs of how the day is going and my thoughts to Cunard cruise.
You will find all of this as it happens on my Facebook page, click here
