Welcome to the Family – Magellan joins Cruise and Maritime

We have a new exciting addition to join the cruise ships sailing from the UK in 2015 as Cruise and Maritime are set to launch Magellan.

She previously was the Carnival Holiday for Carnival Cruises and is still currently sailing for Iberostar Cruises as the Ibero Holiday at the moment.

She will be the biggest ship in the Cruise and Maritime Fleet, and also the flagship for the company and I think this is really exciting and will enhance the cruise lines popularity to have a newer more modern ship sailing in the fleet.

At 46,052 gross tons she will carry 1,250 people which is about 300 passenger less than she could carry so there will be more space on board for passenger to sit back and relax.

She will have the normal range of staterooms from Inside up to expansive Royal Suites. In total she will span nine passenger decks and have 8 lifts on board. She is very accessible with extra wide corridors and large deck areas to sit and enjoy the ship.

Magellan will also be Adults only, she there is no space taken up for kid’s pools or children’s clubs.

One of the advantages to sailing with Cruise and Maritime is that all the ships operate in Sterling and there are no hefty service charges.

Having the smaller range of ships which is now being limited to those cruise companies that have the older ships, as new ships are all mega-ships such as Quantum and Anthem, Britannia is also around 150,000 mark. Is bigger always better?

Cruise and Maritime also sail from 8 ports within the UK giving much easier transfer times from your home to the ship.

But it depends on the Experience you want, the newer ships will give you dynamic dining, robotic bars and a giant pink bear on the pool deck, C&M will give you the more traditional and leisurely style of cruising, which is really more what cruising is all about isn’t it?

Magellan’s first voyage for C&M will be the 12 Night Solar Eclipse Cruise which is currently the only cruise doing the Solar Eclipse left on the Market, but if that’s not for you directly after she will do a 1 night overnight cruise in Tilbury so you can get on and have a look and see if it’s for you before investing to much in a longer holiday.

Will you be sailing on Magellan?
