Tui to enter the World of River Cruising!
Next year we will see a new face on the Waterways of Europe, and it is a more unusual as it has recently been announced that TUI will be joining the River Cruise Market from Summer 2020.
The name of the company is still unknown, will it be Marella River Cruises? Or perhaps stay with Tui River Cruises but what we do know is that they will have 3 vessels, and all Adults Only. They have purchased the ships from two operators, Reiseburo Mittelthurgau Fluss and Werner-Tours. These vessels will continue their current schedule until October 2019.
I get the impression that they will be on the Value side of cruise, not so much the boutique side but we will see. If you decide to travel with them you will have direct flights from the UK, Airport transfers to and from the ship, 1GB of Wi-Fi per room per room and tips and port charges are included. Unlike other lines the shore excursion are not included but they do include a £120.00 credit towards the tours in the price.
They go on sale on the 25th April with 19 different routes available on the Rhine, Danube, Moselle and Main Rivers.
When booking you will have the option to select the board basis, again not to much has been said but whether you can do Room Only, B&B is yet to be known, but they will have Full Board and Full Board plus with Wine, Beers and Soft drinks with meals, or you can upgrade the package to have a premium drinks package. Deck BBQ’s and nightly entertainment will also feature on the ships daily program.
This announcement has come days after they launched the Adult Only Marella Explorer 2 in the Ocean cruise brand Marella Cruises and they really are taking the world by storm
