The Captain let it out of the Bag?!

Royal Caribbean have a long list of ships on order for release in the next few years, and in general across all cruise lines we will see about 20 new cruise liners launched in the next 5 years. Most anticipated for me is the two new Celebrity Ships, I must admit I think they are doing the right thing by keeping the size in-keeping with the Solstice Class currently sailing in the fleet at the moment.

What new ship are you waiting for?

Well anyway jumping back to Royal Caribbean and last week saw some more exciting news. Royal Caribbean announced that construction on their third Oasis Class Ship has started at STX Shipyard in France – Read more here

After visiting the Oasis of the Seas last year I must say I was blown away with how big she is, I was lucky enough to be on Independence of the Seas when she was first built and I thought that was big.

Oasis of the Seas, I think is to big for me. I must admit I prefer a smaller ship and the more Luxury style, with my all time favourite being the Celebrity Solstice Class.

Normally the cruise lines will release the name of a new ship just before it goes on sale, and with the 3rd Quantum Class set to be Ovation of the Seas.

Apparently Captain Trym who is currently on the Oasis of the Seas, whom must of had one to many drinks announced to a room full of Crown and Anchor guests on what must have been a special event set up for Past Passengers that the third Oasis Class ship would be called ‘Harmony of the Seas’

He also said that it is likely that Oasis of the Seas will leave the Caribbean and join Quantum of the Seas in China.

The Far East has been getting more and more popular, these two ships alone would be over 10,000 Guests per cruise.

This at the moment is just rumours in the World of Cruising but I thought I would share this with you, what do you think?
