It has been with much anticipation over the past month as we have watched the final touches go on to the brand new Quantum of the Seas. October for Royal Caribbean has been an exciting month as not only will Southampton have seen Quantum when she docks on Friday but on the 15th Oasis of the Seas also called in to the port.
Today, Tuesday 28th October Meyer Werft had the pleasure of officially delivering the 167,800 gross ton cruise ship across to the cruise line where she is due to do her first transatlantic crossing to New York early next month, and finally to be named once in New York.
Although not the largest ship travelling in the fleet, Quantum and Anthem which is due out next Spring are said to be the most advance ships in the world, with one perk being that the internet will be a land speeds at sea.
She will also follow in the brands innovative design features and offer virtual balconies in all inside staterooms, and as well as the brands WOW features found on the other ships in the fleet she will also have bumper cars, a sky diving machine and a full size basketball court, not also to mention that you can have your drink served by a Robot.
The North Star I must admit is my favourite feature, this is a London eye shaped pod, which extends up 300m in the air on an arm giving the best view to be found at sea.
So are you booked to travel on her? If not why not be the first to see Anthem next Spring?
