Today we have heard the news that Arcadia has been held up in a dry dock in Bremerhaven in Germany. She departed Southampton and arrived in Bremerhaven on the 25th November for a multi-million pound refit which would see some quite dramatic changes on board.
One of the newest features being brought to life on the Arcadia – which is a first throughout the entire P&O Fleet – is the addition of two single balcony cabins. She will follow in the footsteps of the other ships in the fleet with the addition of the more affordable single Inside cabins.
These cabins are planned to go on deck 2 replacing her Electra Nightclub and also part of the Monte Carlo Casino.
The Globe Lounge will also be refitted and will become the new late night dancing area onboard the Arcadia. It will be beautifully enclosed with a new glass wall which will be designed to reduce the noise from being heard In other areas of the ship. This will also dramatically improve the sound quality inside the venue, making for a win-win situation.
The Ocean Grill – Marco Pierre White’s restaurant – will also have a new look and feel with the addition of a new reception area.
For all those people that like to shop till you drop, you will be interested to know that many of Arcadia’s shops will be refitted to make the experience that little bit more special.
The Crow’s Nest will be nicely finished to provide a more intimate space so whether you are travelling in a group or a couple, this will be a great place to chill out and relax before and after dinner.
We arem, iku yet to hear what is causing the delay however we were told earlier today that one of the mini-cruises due to depart on the 15th December for 2 nights to Bruges has been cancelled.
She will hopefully be back to do her cruise on the 17th December however we’ll wait with bated breath to see if this happens!
The mini cruise was due to be the Annual Christmas Conference Cruise for Cruise.co.uk which sadly has now been cancelled however I’m sure the bosses at Cruise.co.uk will come up with a fantastic alternative.
Come back soon to see the new look Arcadia!
