MSC Cruises – Will you cruise with them or not?

Next week I have been invited once again to Southampton to see the MSC Magnifica whilst she is in.

MSC Magnifica is the largest ship that MSC have ever placed in Southampton, and we were all hoping that she may return next year but this is not the case so if you want to give MSC a go now is the time.

Currently she is sailing 7 night Northern Europe voyages with an overnight stay in Amsterdam. She weighs in at a total of 95,128 gross tons so slightly bigger than the Queen Victoria but she hold 2,518 guests which is about 500 more guests than the Queen Victoria.

MSC have a shady background when it comes to guests that have travelled with them, I personally have been on the MSC Opera and MSC Poesia which are the smaller ships in the fleet, MSC Opera imparticular has had the worst beating when it comes to the reviews, but I have also had a lot of guests which have rated them higher.

Having been on the smaller ships in the fleet, I know that they have a few problems here and there and they do need updating which MSC are doing over the next 2 years which will see the ships in the Licra Class completely refitted inside and a middle section added making them much longer in length.

When it comes to MSC, it’s not uncommon for us to hear, ‘Oh we wouldn’t want to travel with them’ or ‘Our friends didn’t like them so it’s a no go’ but I always say to people what one person likes another may not, so just because they didn’t like MSC it doesn’t mean that you won’t. You have to try something to get your own perception.

Are you someone who has not traveled with them simply because friends have said they wouldn’t sail with them again?
