Oceania Cruises have recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary and they are slowly making a mark with the UK market, having 3 ships calling in to Southampton in 2014. The Oceania Marina, Nautica and Insignia are all due to sail in to Southampton at some point this year.

Last year I was very fortunate to visit the Marina and Nautica whilst berthed in Southampton and one of the things that really stood out for me was the standard of the accommodation, I have been very lucky to do many cruises and see lots of Ships and this along with the food is where Oceania excel.

So are you planning a trip on Oceania at some point this year? They offer 6* luxury cruises on ships which are simply stunning, they concept is about the food, they are the cruise line that spend the most of food. Oceania are the ONLY cruise line to carry 28 day matured USDA Prime cuts of Beef, this means that the cuts of Beef are also among the most expensive in the World.

Each and every stateroom onboard features the ‘Prestige Tranquillity Mattress’, this offers one of the best night’s sleep you will ever have. The mattress, custom-design seven-zone mattress composed of 400 encapsulated springs covered by memory foam. A two-inch thick quilted pillow top is filled with water-based gel foam and aromatized Chamomile fiber to ensure a deep and restorative sleep.

Inside Staterooms onboard the Marina and Rivera, these are 174 square feet and offer an oasis of tranquility. Oceanview Staterooms don’t get much better than those found onboard the Marina and Rivera, these are am astounding 242 square feet, fairly uncommon for an Oceanview stateroom, these boost floor to ceiling windows, so basically a Balcony stateroom without the balcony but gives the guests to ability to take full advantage of the views. Oceanview staterooms on the Marina and Rivera benefit from a larger Marble and Granite clad bathroom complete with Bathtub and Shower. Oceania are one of the only cruise lines to over bathtubs in Oceanview staterooms. You will also have a large seating area complete with vanity desk and breakfast table and not to forget the mini bar.

Next up we have the Veranda staterooms, these are the most popular staterooms on board Oceania, each offering a private haven in the form of your very own private balcony, and these staterooms offer the same feature as the Oceanview, including the spacious seating area and spacious closet. The Veranda staterooms total a size of 282 square feet.

So starting with the Penthouse Suites, these have been designed and finished to rival any world class 5* hotels, offering a haven of luxury and space in elegant surrounding. Each 420 square feet Suite features a private Veranda. You also benefit from a large seating area and dining table for in suite dining. Again you will have the full sized bathroom complete with full sized bathtub and shower and walk in closet. What more could you want?

Next is the Oceania Suites, these have been conceived by the famous New York designed Dakota Jackson. There is only 12 Oceania suites on each of the ships are over 1,000 square feet, and offer midship position. These feature a living room, dining room and even a cinema room. The suite also benefits from an Indoor and on veranda whirlpool spa and even a second bathroom for guests.

Next up are the Vista Suites, these are even more popular that the Oceania Suites due to the location on board the Marina and Rivera, these are situated on the Bow of the ship offering the most amazing views as you sail in to port. These suites also designed by Dakota Jackson range from 1,200 to 1,500 square feet in size depending on what deck you are on. They feature the dining room, large living room and spacious master bedroom with ensuite. You will also have the Whirlpool spa on the Veranda and in the bathroom, however instead of a cinema room, the Vista Suites have their very own private gyms.

For the Crème De La Crème, The Owners Suite on the Marina and Rivera, these are out of this world, situated on the back of the ship and spanning the entire beam of the ship, this offers over 2,000 square feet in space, larger than your average 2 bed flat. The Owners Suite is full of rich furnishing from the Ralph’s Lauren Home Collection offer ultimate comfort for your time whist cruising with Oceania, as you enter the suite, you are in the middle of the ship, in front of you, you will be meet by your Butler at you private bar, you also have a grand piano in the lobby, this is backed by floor to ceiling glass windows.

To the left you have the large living room, complete with a dining area, and lots of space to relax, the living room also have a private verandah which wraps around the back of the ship on the left hand side, to the right of the lobby you have the master bedroom and bathroom, again this have its own balcony which wraps around the right hand side of the ship complete with a whirlpool spa.
