With just over a week till the Norwegian Escape is due to debut in Southampton, I am extremely lucky to have been invited onboard as some of the first to get to see her whilst her brief stay in Southampton. She will do 2 one night cruises to give guests the chance to try Norwegian Cruise Lines.

I have thought for a while that Norwegian should base a newish ship out of Southampton, but this is a great way to get the UK Market onboard all be it for a night.

Norwegian Escape is the newest ship in the Norwegian Fleet and is the Breakaway Plus class, she is similar to the Getaway and the Breakaway but the Plus class will have the little more wow factor.

One you cannot say about Norwegian Cruise Lines is that they have boring ships, each ship has different hull art, mainly depending on where the ship is being located. You may remember Norwegian Breakaway with the New York Skyline on the front, she is based in New York!

Norwegian Escape will have a feel of the Caribbean as her hull art with a select of wildlife and the ocean painted on, Guy Harvey is the one responsible for completing this wonderful hull art.

The Norwegian Escape will be homeported in the port of Miami which will replace the Norwegian Epic who has been doing the Caribbean in the winter months since her launch. Norwegian Escape will sail seven day Eastern Caribbean routes to Tortola, British Virgin Islands, U.S Virgin Islands and the Bahamas. Norwegian Getaway will do the Western Med routing.

This also comes as Norwegian Cruise Lines have announced that they are jumping on the bandwagon and sending a ship to China with the Norwegian Escape’s sister the Norwegian Bliss in 2017. This is going to be one of many new ships doing the Far East as Princess also recently announced that the new Royal Class Ship the Majestic Princess will also do that part of the world.

Norwegian Escape will have 3 sisters, Norwegian Bliss and Breakaway Class 3 and 4 which are yet to be named.

Norwegian Escape will officially be handed over to Norwegian Cruise lines on the 22nd October and will set Sail for Southampton. She will be docked in the Ocean Terminal for those wanting to pop down and say Hello!
