Recently Celebrity Announced they would be moving the Celebrity Equinox to the Caribbean in the summer of 2017. A move I felt was more for the American Market, as Celebrity don’t particularly have that big of a presence in Europe as it is.
Now the news from Celebrity is that the Celebrity Summit will offer mini cruises from the port of Fort Lauderdale, this isn’t a new thing for Celebrity as they only dropped the shorter cruises earlier this year but they have decided that they will bring them back in 2018. They will offer a selection of four and five night sailings.
Guests wishing to take up the shorter voyages although I suppose these are more interesting for those wanting to take a short cruise as part of a longer trip to the US, or those guests already living in the US. I must admit as lovely as Le Havre, Amsterdam and Bruges is, I do think we have the short straw to the American’s who have easy access to these cruises.
Celebrity Summit will sail from Fort Lauderdale and cruise to Key West, Nassau in the Bahamas and Cozumel in Mexico. These cruises will depart in the early part of 2018 before Celebrity Summit makes the return to her home port of San Juan.
Would you travel to the US just to do a four-night cruise or is it a little too far for you?
