Celebrity Equinox moves from the Med to the Sunny Shores of the Caribbean.

Celebrity Cruises are known for having some of the most luxurious ships afloat, with two new ships expected before 2020 it’s a rather exciting time for us Celebrity Fans. Celebrity have spent many years building up there sought after reputation and have won countless awards. Have you been on Celebrity and been spoilt by them? If not now is the time.

 Although this is not good news if you have booked on the Celebrity Equinox for 2017 whilst she is in the Med, Celebrity have announced that she will know not cruise the Med for the Summer Season and will be re-deployed in the Caribbean, this will be the first time in about 5 years Celebrity have based a ship in the Caribbean year round.

 However, I can’t help but think that this is a mistake for Celebrity, at the end of the day, if I was cruising in the Summer months, I’d prefer a shorter flight and wouldn’t be inclined to do the long haul flight, would you?

 The move has made Celebrity look a little bear in the Med, as only the Celebrity Reflection and Celebrity Constellation will cruise the Med, and already we are struggling to get guests the sailings they want. Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Eclipse will also continue to stay in Europe, Eclipse out of Southampton and Silhouette in Northern Europe.

Recently Celebrity announced that they would drop the formal nights for Evening Chic, which is a smart casual dress code, and what with this move I can’t help but think they Celebrity are concentrating more on the American Market than the European Market.

However, Celebrity will always remain a firm favourite, I’m just not sure how far people are far to go to cruise on the Celebrity Equinox.
