Celebrity Eclipse to recieve a Makeover before making her big return!

Celebrity Eclipse is one of my favourite ships, I find the contrast between a bigger ship and the elegance and sophistication works really well, she is filled with large open areas and finished in lots of light colours, woods and metals, I too am a fan of Cunard but the style on board Cunard is much more traditional and finished in much deeper colours and darker woods.

Eclipse has called Southampton home in the Summer months since her launch in 2010 and I am very excited not only that she will be returning for certain in 2015 and 2016 but before coming home next May she will under-go a major refit.

Changes will include the additional of ‘Slush’, I must admit I love this concept but I think it will be very easy to get a little tipsy here, located up on the Pool deck, here you can come and get a variety of frozen non-alcoholic and alcoholic cocktails – so really I suppose Frozen Slush Puppies!!

The Casino will have the addition of British themed slot machines and European roulette wheels added and the some of the bars will be restyled.

Cellar Masters located down opposite the Martini Bar (which offers a ice top bar to keep your cocktails and martini’s cool) is one of the places I am really excited they are removing, Cellar Masters is for the wine lovers, and you can go here and try different wines without needing to purchase a full bottle or glass. I must admit the furniture and décor in here is very dark but is designed more like a chateaux, lots of chesterfield type sofas. This will be replaced with a Gastrobar, a premium craft beer and food venue that is said to offer over 40 handcrafted boutique beers, wine and cocktails. In much of the style of Qsine, food and drinks can be ordered from an IPad and this will also offer music and entertainment here.

The refurbishment will coincide with the launch of the new Suite Class offerings which you can find out more on my previous blog – Celebrity Cruises All New Suite Class!!
