Bored Of Sailing On The Ocean – Why Not Walk On The Ocean Bed?

Canada is know as one of the most scenic places in the World, with the World Famous Rockies in Western Canada ending in the Exciting city of Vancouver and offering cruises up the coast to Alaska. When a lot of people think about cruising around Canada this tends to be the main cruising area.

Well how about some thing different, New Brunswick is on the Eastern Coast of Canada, it is North of Quebec city which is an exciting destination for cruises with allot of cruise lines offering over night stays giving you time to explore this fantastic and exciting city.

New Brunswick is one of the less explored parts of Canada, but its only a 6 hour flight from the UK and has been Dubbed ‘Canada’s Hidden Gem’. New Brunswick also has some of the best Whale Watching in the world and in certain times of year when the Icebergs break up from the North and float down you have some amazing views watch Whales swimming with the Icebergs floating by!! New Brunswick is boarded by Maine and Nova Scotia so plenty to see and explore on your door step.

However New Brunswick is one of the only places in the World that you can actually walk on the Ocean Bed, it is Powered by the World’s Highest tides, the Bay of Fundy is one of the richest marine ecosystems in the World.

Twice daily in thee Bay of Fundy the tides rise and fall up to 16 meters, this is the height of a four storey building, but I always think pictures paint a better picture, so if you do believe me take a look for your self, below is Hopewell Rock on of  the most amazing sights in Canada,

New Brunswick is home to and old-fashioned gem – Covered bridges and there is only 62 remaining in the whole of New Brunswick, with no less that 28 cover bridges to be seen in the Bay of Fundy, as well as being one of the only places in the World where you can walk on the Sea Bed, New Brunswick is also home the Worlds Longest covered bridge at 390m long and it has been declared a Provincial and National Historic Site.

The Reversing Falls again is something which is a natural phenomenon, on the Saint John River located in Saint John in New Brunswick is where the River runs thought a narrow gorge and finally emptying in to the Bay of Fundy, but due to the mammoth change in the tide the of the Bay, this forces the flow of water to reverse against its prevailing current pushing the water back up the river, and if you are the more adventurous these rapids are caused by a series of underwater ledges while roil the water in either direction, sound like Fun?
