In December 2013 the Arcadia is due to spend around 20 nights in a dry dock, this is always very exciting as we watch some of the older ships being brought back to life with new and innovating features.
One of the newest features being brought to life on the Arcadia which is a first through out the entire P&O Fleet is the addition of 2 single Balcony cabins, of course she will follow in the footsteps of the other ships in the fleet with the addition of the more affordable single Inside cabins.
These cabins are planned to go on Deck 2, replacing her Electra Nightclub and also part of the Monte Carlo Casino.
The Globe lounge will also be refitted and will become the new late night dancing area onboard the Arcadia and will be beautifully enclosed with a new glass wall which will be designed to reduce the noise from being heard on other areas of the ship, also with the addition of this new glass wall it will dramatically improve the sound quality inside the venue, making for a win-win situation.
The Ocean Grill – Marco Pierre White’s restaurant will also have a new look and feel with the additional of a new reception area.
For all those people that like to shop till you drop, many will be interested to know that many of Arcadia’s shops will be refitted to make the experience that little bit more special.
The Crow’s nest will be nicely finished to provide a more intimate space so weather you are travelling in a group or a couple this will be a great place to chill out and relax before and after dinner.
Arcadia is P&O largest adult only ship in the fleet and I’m sure we all look forward to seeing how she turns out in December – Keep Posted for more news regarding her refit.
Please also be aware that there will be only 2 Single balcony cabins and a couple single Outside cabins, so if you are thinking about travelling on the World Cruise 2014 in a single please let me know so we can Pre-register you to be the first to get prices for these cabins.
