It has been announced this morning that P&O are building a new ship! Yes with Britannia only being delivered last year.
P&O are once again going bigger with the new ship to be one of the biggest in the world at a massive 180,000 gross tons, just 40,000 smaller than the Oasis Class.
The ship will be built by Meyer Werft in Germany and is expected to be with P&O by 2020 and will feature the company’s exclusive ‘Green Cruising’ a design which is in the first generation of cruise ship to be fully powered by Liquefied Natural Gas, which is the most advanced fuel technology which significantly reduced air emissions.
Paul Ludlow – P&O Senior Vice President said that this will be the largest ship in the fleet and will have a striking new exterior and interior design and will comprehensively embrace the company’s classic and iconic features. Most details will be announced soon.
Really exciting new for P&O and having been on Britannia, I cannot wait to see what P&O come up with!
