Royal Caribbean are spending $30 million on Jewel of the Seas this Spring to bring her up to date with the other ships in the Royal Caribbean Fleet, she is part of the Radiance Class, which are known for being the smaller ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet, at 90,000 Gross tons over half a size smaller than the 220,000 Gross tons in the Oasis Class.

This refit is just in time as Jewel of the Seas will be spending the Summer Season based in the Med, so for anyone that doesn’t fancy the Harmony of the Seas, you have a much smaller option to hand should you want a smaller ship she will sail seven, eight and nine night cruises from Rome to Greece, Turkey and Italy.

The refit will include a new two bedroom family suite as well as 24 new balcony and Oceanview stateroom, new restaurants to include Izumi and Giovanni’s tables and Vintages which will be the wine bar on board for those wanting to sample some of the finest wines at sea. She will also have a new Large poolside movie and of course they will be installing VOOM WI-FI which is the lines new superfast internet found currently mainly on RCI newer ships.

Radiance Class are known for being ships of light so although they are smaller ships, the itineraries do tend to be significantly better than what you would get on one of the new mega ships such as Harmony of the Seas which is based out of Barcelona offer 7 night Western Med cruises. Although she still has the main features such as the rock climbing wall and the Fairways Mini Gold, Viking Crown Lounge and Windjammer so if you haven’t been on a smaller Royal Caribbean ship, Jewel of the Seas could be the way forward for you.

Have you sailed on Jewel of the Seas? Maybe booked to sail on her next Summer? Would love to hear from you?
