Worlds scariest airports to land at

Sometimes you have to wonder who was left in charge of deciding on the location of the airport and positioning of the runway however, these videos make you realise how talented (and brave) airline pilots really are.

I think that this is more scary for the people on the beach than the passengers themselves but what a sight!  St Marten in the Caribbean:

Funchal in Madeira is one of the world’s most dangerous airports due to its short runway and proximity to cliffs.  In this video you can see many pilots abandoning their landing:

In Gibraltar, pilots have to slam on the brakes as soon as they touch down to avoid the watery drop at the end of the runway:

Kai Tak’s runway in Hong Kong is located in a densely populated residential area meaning the pilots have to manoeuvre the aircraft between buildings to line up with the runway:

Large aircraft are banned from landing at Toncontin airport in Honduras after an Airbus A320-233 over-shot the runway on landing and ploughed into a nearby street in 2008.
