Last week, myself and my colleague went to Southampton to be given a tour of the P&O Oriana. After visiting two Oceania ships and a Regent Seven Seas ship in the last few weeks, I was worried that I would be disappointed after being spoilt with the luxury of the six star cruise ships and then spending the day on a four star ship.
I wasn’t disappointed at all.
Oriana is one of three ‘Adults Only’ ships in the P&O fleet and she is a very well thought out and well equipped vessel. She’s my kinda gal!
Large, open, clean, modern spaces. Elegance without being ‘flashy’.
Oriana has a Spa, Theatre, Cinema, plenty of restaurants (one of which has menus designed by Marco Pierre White), shopping, a library, pools, card rooms, fantastic entertainment and an array of bars and lounges onboard to chose from.
She also has cabins designed and reserved for the solo traveller. These are located in the area that was the Kids Club before Oriana went ‘Adults Only’.
All of the cabins on Oriana are plenty spacious, clean and well equipped.
The food we were served was delicious. Being veggie, I always go for that option and I have to say, P&O are fantastic when it comes to knowing that vegetarians still enjoy good, full of flavour meals rather than the bland, ‘that’ll do’ meals I’ve been given on other cruise ships. The best I’ve had so far – well done P&O!!
Overall, I was extremely impressed with Oriana – I’d definitely sail on her myself! I’d love to hear your views and experiences of Oriana or any other P&O ship. I’m off to see the Azura next month and would love to hear what you have to say about her too.
