Anyone who has cruised has probably been witness to the eardrum shattering horn blowing that seems to take us by surprise as we enter or leave a port.
But did you know that ships can also master the art of playing some of the best known songs via their horns too?
Upon entering a port in Germany where a music festival was taking place, MSC Magnifica cleverly gave onlookers her own rendition of a well know song by one of the bands headlining the festival – The White Stripes. I give you Seven Nation Army (and a bit of Happy Birthday too).
To see another amazing video of Armonia being ‘cut in half’, scroll to the bottom of this link.
And here you’ll find an amazing MSC offer hot off the press! £429 for a cruise including flights and transfers!!
And then we have the horn battles. They’re awfully competitive! Go on girls…..!
And then Disney pull their trump card.
Fancy a Disney Cruise so that you can witness this yourself? Have a look at these fab offers.
But this one always makes me a bit emotional. Picture the scene. The three sisters reunited in their UK homeport, Southampton especially for Queen Mary 2’s birthday. The two other girls arrived early so that they were waiting when she arrived. Then as she sails past, one sister starts singing Happy Birthday to her! She definitely looks like she’s blushing as she sails past….
You can be part of Cunard’s next Celebratory event by taking part in the 175th Anniversary Cruise. QM2 will retrace the route that the first Cunard ship ‘Britannia’ undertook as her maiden voyage. To be part of this moment in history, have a look here.
Have you been on board during a horn battle or witnessed any ships ‘singing’ to each other? Please, please, please and me your videos so I can have a look!
