Are you making ‘faux pas’ at the dining table?

Part of the fun and experience of cruising is the formal dining.  Some love this while others hate it.  But could you be making dining mistakes that you weren’t even aware were ‘faux pas’?

 

Have a look at the below and see what you think.

 

Don’t place items on the dining table that don’t belong there.

 

Cutlery – start from the outside and work your way in.

Wait until everyone is seated and has their meal before starting yours.

 

Don’t add salt and/or pepper to your meal before you’ve tasted it.

 

And if you do you use the salt and pepper, they should always be passed together.

 

Don’t talk with your mouth full.

Soup is a popular choice and has a whole list of etiquette all to itself.

 

Mastered the soup? Let’s try the lobster….

 

And this one is my favourite. I didn’t know some of these.

The way you position your cutlery signals the waitstaff.
