Strictly Ballroom

Now we are starting a new year are you missing the end of the reality TV programmes that have taken over our screens for the last few months like X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing ?

We saw Abby Clancy win in the final at Christmas and now we have to wait until the end of this year before it all starts again.

If you are a fan of ballroom dancing you may want to consider a cruise because you can not only watch the experts but you can also take part or even have lessons yourself.

We all know that Cunard are famous for their spectacular ballroom in the Queens Room but there are other options available to you.

I was very suprised when on the MSC Preziosa last year at how popular this was.  There were people dancing in all of the main bars and lounges with live music and in the main safari lounge they also had dance escorts to invite anyone who may want to have a go up on to the dancefloor. They did ask myself and my husband but we declined because i am not much of a ballroom dancer !!

i was also on the Balmoral last year and they had dance classes available and again dance escorts in the lounges in the evening. Some of our party went along to the lessons and said it was really good fun.

P&O have themed cruises and even have stars from the BBC show on board.

It seems to be getting more and more popular so i am sure more cruise lines will be embracing this.
