School Holidays

Today was the first day back to school for my children after Christmas.
To say they were unenthusiastic is an understatement .
They really enjoy school and are doing very well and both have lots of very good friends but I think it was the same for them as it is for us, it’s the early mornings and rushing around that doesn’t appeal.

My day started at 6.30am when I got up to do a few jobs and prepare lunch boxes. They are normally up between 6-6.30am but must be still nice and relaxed from holidays because I had to wake them at 7.30 to get ready and have breakfast. I bet they will be back to 6am starts in time for the weekend though.
They sat at the kitchen table complaining that they had to go back and then asked how long it was until their next holiday. I couldn’t believe it when I realised its only 5 weeks until they break up again for February half term so that lifted their spirits a little.

There are still good deals to be had in school holidays so if you are thinking of booking its best to book early because you do find that family cabins sell quickly for this period and by leaving it until last minute you may find that the flights etc are no longer available.
We are very lucky where we live because our schools usually break up on different dates to the rest of the country so it is sometimes easier to find cheaper deals but the majority of schools break up on 15th February. Don’t worry if this is the case there are still some fantastic deals available.

There is still limited availability and they are very good for families. Aswell as offering excellent childrens club facilities they are also more informal so you would not need worry about strict dress codes or dining times.
