Well its that time of year again when everyone is getting over Christmas and looking for something else to look forward to.
If you are anything like me January is a real anti climax so I normally start to think about booking my summer holiday
The thought of some nice warm weather and a few cocktails in hand are enough to keep me going through the rest of winter.
I find that people are growing increasingly concerned about booking early and then prices dropping at the last minute.
I must admit I have felt the same over the years and cruise lines have been offering amazing deals for last minute bookings so I can understand where the concerns are coming from.
I think they have now realised that people have lost faith in booking early so they have now introduced steps to encourage people back into early booking . For example P&O and Cunard have introduced a price promise which means that if the fare reduces after booking they will honour the difference by way of an on board credit or cabin upgrade ( not applicable to getaways )
Also Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises have moved away from the discount market and are offering benefits rather than discounting such as drinks packages, on board credit etc..
Hopefully this will bring back confidence that you can book early without being penalised at the last minute for doing so.
It’s also worth remembering that by booking early you can normally choose your cabin number , dining time etc which quite often is not possible on late deals.
So if you are considering taking a cruise and would like to speak to me about fares/best time to book please give me a call.
