The Aurora is all set to have a multi million pound refurbishment this year which will be finished just in time for the Christmas and New Year cruises.
The refit is set to cost P&O £26 million pounds and will be the first ship in their fleet to feature the new livery design.
They are introducing firm favourites which include the speciality Sindhu restaurant and the Glass House wine bar which have been very popular on other ships.
The buffet restaurant will have a complete refurbishment with new décor and the Beach House menu will replace the Pennant Grill and will include family favourites such as Fillet of Beef on Lava Rock.
They will also be introducing freedom dining which is becoming hugely popular and are now going to have more tables for 2 in the main dining room. They will also feature Marco Pierre White dishes on gala evenings
I read recently that P&O are the ultimate foodies cruise and if the above is anything to go by I would have to agree. Being a foodie myself I will definitely be looking at trying the new look Aurora.
I did cruise on Aurora a few years ago and really enjoyed it. The Crows Nest was beautiful in the evening with twinkling lights and piano music . It felt very traditional and elegant and was a perfect setting for pre dinner drinks.
It is nice that P&O are moving with the times and introducing more choice and flexibility I just hope they keep some of the traditional features that I am sure are popular with many of their regular cruisers.
Families will also be pleased to know there will be a complete refurbishment of the Reef children’s club so hopefully this ship will appeal to all ages.
