Carnival corporation have announced a new brand called “Fathom”
The Adonia has been chosen especially for this new brand so from April 2016 P&O will redeploy their smallest ship to concentrate on this new product.
Adonia will be sailing from Dominican Republic on 7 night round trip voyages offering a unique experience to its passengers and crew.
This new concept will mean that passengers will become actively involved in working with the local communities in areas such as education, the environment and economic development.
This is something that has become more popular in particular with the American market and I am sure will grow with other nationalities when public awareness increases.
I can imagine this will appeal to retired cruise passengers who are looking for a different holiday experience. They will have cruised the regular routes and may be looking to try something different.
There would not be many other holidays that would be as rewarding as this.
I think it is a fantastic idea and I hope it is successful and able to continue into the future.
