It is no surprise to see that Disney are to transform their ships for the Halloween and Christmas festivities. They have long been celebrating these themes with anything from festive costumes for our favourite characters to specially made sweets and cakes.
I am pleased to see they will be making even more of their celebrations on their future cruises. I am not really into Halloween, my children love it because they get lots of sweets and enjoy dressing up but that’s about as far as it goes for us.
However we all love Christmas and I would absolutely love to be on a Disney cruise ship on the build up to the festive season.
My kids loved meeting the characters when we had our Disney holiday this year and enjoyed the magical side more than the rides.
They would love to see them dressed up in their Christmas costumes and be asked to help light the Christmas tree.
I am sure the adults would enjoy this just as much. I was amazed when in Disneyland how many “grown ups” actually queued up just to meet the characters and princesses. Proves some of us never really grow up.
There will be lots of fun with parties on deck with candy cane and limbo dancing.
Father Christmas himself will of course make an appearance and Castaway Cay ( Disney’s private Island ) will be covered in a blanket of snow. Everyone will be told to look out for Mr and Mrs Snowman.
