Virgin announce cruise plans

Virgin have confirmed plans to break into the cruise market.

They have not announced yet when the ships will be delivered but they will be designing and building 2 new ships and will be based in the Miami area.

Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson has said they plan to shake up the cruise industry and deliver a holiday that customers will absolutely love ?

If I am not mistaken that is what cruise lines have been doing for many years and if we didn’t already love cruising it would not be one of the fastest growing holiday sectors.

I am sure Virgin will come up with some new and exciting features for their ships but they are not alone. Royal Caribbean Cruise Line have been doing this for so long it will be hard to feature anything they haven’t already thought of. On their ships you can have cocktails served by robotic arms, learn to skydive, rock climb, surf, enjoy the dodgems, ice skate , rollerskate, watch broadway shows etc etc the list goes on.

It will be interesting to see what Virgin will have to offer that is so different.

Of course not everyone wants these huge all singing all dancing ships and for those that don’t there are beautiful smaller , more friendly ships with other cruise lines but I can’t imagine this is what Virgin will be aiming for.
